It was all
a dream.
Inked Moon started pretty simply. I needed something to do with my time outside of my full time job as I continue to battle breast cancer. Doom scrolling was proving to be incredibly unhealthy for me. I’ve always loved making sweet treats and seeing people happy because of something I created, and somewhere along the way, I realized I wanted it to become something more.
So, Inked Moon was born. Inked because, well, I have a lot of tattoos that tell some pretty cool stories of different chapters throughout my life. And Moon because I have always loved what the Moon represents….cycles, change, growth. And of course a divine feminine energy. Some phases are brighter than others, some are darker, but none of them last forever. Just like life.
What I didn’t expect was how much I would fall in love with making the pops themselves. This isn’t my background, so every new flavor, design, and custom order has been a chance to challenge myself and see what I can create. Getting to be a small part of someone’s birthday, celebration, or special occasion and then seeing their reaction to something I made just for them has truly become one of my favorite parts of all of this.
I also wanted Inked Moon to give me a way to get involved in my new community, meet people, and find ways to give back. Whether that means donating pops, supporting a local cause or pop up, partnering with another small business, or letting someone sponsor a little happiness for somebody else, I want Inked Moon to be something that puts good back into the world.
The dream is still growing, and so am I. If I can build something creative, a little unconventional, and completely my own while making a few people happier along the way, that feels pretty damn good.
